 1. Have arrived safely in Egypt, a good thing! Ridiculous heat, landed at 18:30 local time to temperatures of 32 degrees C, which remained steady until long after the sun had gone. Excellent food put on by the Tropicana Hotel – awesome place! – pink gelatinous goo was a particular culinary high point, to the end that no one is suffering from food poisoning… yet! |

 On the first day of Ex Diverse Dragon our group kick started the week with a bout of kayaking, taking place mainly in the estuary, with a quick foray into the local sewer network. The day began quite serenely, paddling upstream, with the tide doing most of the hard work, giving everyone a chance to get used to the kayaks. We then had a somewhat wet picnic, with more time... |

 01 September 2008 Ocdt Squirrell picked up Ocdts Hicketts, Hughes and Taylor and headed North in the team minibus to begin Exercise Dragon’s Ride. They arrived at the youth hostel in Canisbay (2 miles south of John O’Groats) at 2200, having left at 0400. |

Summer Camp this year began with the Olympics social, a chance to meet everyone, and the annual Combat Fitness Test, a chance to get reacquainted with your boots – well-broken and comfortable, or otherwise. The first week was then a rotation around 4 special-to-arms training days and a range day. |

By Adam Haythorn The company met at the student union on the 21st of June waiting to be transported to Swynnerton training area and the adventures that it entailed. After a little mishap we arrived and got straight into the training. |
